Combobox item change to cause form processing for web forms?

I am in the process of developing my first web based application using JADE and would like to know how to have the form processed by JADE everytime a combobox item changes.
I would also like to know how to output data as a block of text with a portion of the text being a link which will bring up more detail on the selected item.
I have seen it on the World Cup Golf pages and would like to know if this was done using JADE coding and how it was done.
